Juxtaposition

The other night I judged high school students as they recited poems for the state finals of Poetry Out Loud. It was a wonderful evening.

Saturday night I’ll be reading part of one of my erotica stories and an erotic poem at CatalystCon East in Arlington, VA. I wrote a blog post about reading erotica in public at my Erobintica blog [possibly NSFW].

I’ll write more after this weekend, when I’ll examine this juxtaposition in a little bit more depth.

A first post here.

It’s been two years since I started trying to make this blog/website kinda thingy a reality. It’s been a challenge. One that I gave up on for quite some time. But I’m writing more, and getting more work published, and it’s time I started taking myself seriously, and dammit, I’m not about to hide my work in a drawer, real or virtual, because I’ve spent my life waiting. For something. And I’m tired of waiting.

So, this is the place where I’m going to chew on what it means to me to write. But right now it’s after 1am and I have a lot to do tomorrow (like judge a state-wide poetry recitation contest), so this will have to be it.
